"[F****d] Digital Labour - Avoiding Algorithmic Death One" highlights how platform capitalism intensifies human algorithmic behaviour through emotional extractivism and cycles of unpaid labor driven by the fear of losing social connections and job opportunities. It critiques the social and emotional toll of 'techno-capital-feudalism"s descent into "forced, or emotionally coerced, digital labor" where engagement algorithms foster oppression by inducing exhaustion and fear, resulting in reactive 'algorithmic behaviours' that perpetuate biased social conditioning.

These behaviours contribute to violence and societal decay, manifesting in the perpetuation of social and institutional violence, the rise of the far right, overconsumption, resource over-extraction, and climate collapse, all for the profit of a select few. This piece underscores the exacerbation of mental health crises and labor inequalities, advocating for conscious digital engagement, protective legislation, fair compensation for unpaid emotionally coerced "social media labor" as well as the unpaid digital labour involved the involuntary training of large language models, and subliminally advocates for decentralized social media platforms with profit redistribution.

As part of the Sound Obsessed collective exhibition at SONAR+D 2024 S+T+ARTs EU, "[F****d] Digital Labour - Avoiding Algorithmic Death One" utilizes data sonification to create immersive soundscapes from United Nations 's SDG.

The sound was crafted with Manifest Audio’s data sonification tools on Ableton 11 to generate the musical notes and the mapping of audio/midi effects from social and AI big tech company profits, metal health and climate decline, and poverty rise data indexes.

The text is my own theoretical critique prompted into an orchestral overture on Udio with stem separation on Moises AI and FADR, and mastering on LANDR, all gen AI music platforms.Still images were generated on ChatGPT, reprocessed into video with RunwayApp and upscaled using the Gaia Model on Topa Labs.
